Error: The user defined automatic backup folder is not accessible. The default folder for the automatic backup will be used.

This error occurs when the folder for the automatic backup has been changed from the default folder to something else, typically a removable drive. When the removable drive is removed from the computer, NTS can no longer make a backup to the drive thus causing the error. The folder for the automatic backup needs to be reset back to the original or default folder.

  1. Go to the Backup/Restore screen.
  2. Click the Set Auto-Backup Location button at the top of the screen.
  3. A box will appear from which a folder can be selected. Select one of the following folders. Look for the first folder listed first. If that folder does not exist, move on to the next folder.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\NTSWin\bkp_auto
    C:\Program Files\NTSWin\bkp_auto
  4. After finding the folder, click on the folder to select it and then click OK.

When performing a normal backup, the Set Auto-Backup Location button should NOT be clicked. This button should ONLY be clicked if the location for the automatic backups needs to be changed. For more information, please see the link below.
